Kodak Alaris

Kodak Alaris was created in 2013 after Eastman Kodak – as part of its chapter 11 bankruptcy exit strategy – sold its personalised imaging and document imaging businesses to its largest creditor, the UK Kodak Pension Plan (KPP).

Scope

  • We started working for Kodak’s UK document scanning business in 2005. Historically poorly advised by another PR firm, we were appointed to generate coverage in the PC press to promote Kodak’s new SoHo/SME scanners, as well as targeting vertical titles with its higher end enterprise focused devices.
  • In 2013, after the KPP acquisition and a rebranding, we were appointed as Kodak Alaris’ European PR lead working with a network of existing agencies in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. We also recruited new partners in the Middle East and Benelux.
  • In total, we worked for Kodak/Kodak Alaris for 10 years working on a day-to-day basis with its UK and European marketing managers and management team.

Results

  • Publishing house tours, competitions, product reviews were the vehicles to address the balance and put Kodak’s entry level scanner solutions on the map.
  • We worked with many customers to show that Kodak Alaris (and its partners) are a safe document management buy.
  • We worked extensively in the NHS promoting how Kodak departmental and production scanners are used to enable Trusts to digitally transform. Click here to read some of the coverage.
  • We also actively engaged with Kodak’s reseller partners – mainly independent software vendors – to source and draft customer related content.
  • We also developed and introduced to Kodak Alaris a new concept called Talking Testimonials – filmed case studies structured around a challenge, solution and benefit theme. Various customers were then filmed: Aintree Hospital, NHS Business Services Authority, Parker Rhodes Hickmotts solicitors and St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals.
